Karielyn Tillman is a freelance recipe developer, food photographer and creator of The Healthy Family and Home website where her focus is on simple recipes, using real food and clean ingredients, detox solutions and natural remedies.  Her motto is “eat like it matters…because it does!”  She is passionate about helping others learn about reading food labels, avoiding GMO’s, processed foods and learning about what’s in the foods they eat.  One of the unique features on her website is the “5 Fast Facts” where she lists the health benefits of each ingredient included in her recipes so you can not only learn what’s not in the foods you eat, but feel good about what is in the foods you eat.

She is the author and photographer of the eCookbook series Clean Eating: Desserts, Snacks, Smoothies and more! which features clean eating recipes that are organic, vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free and she has several more eCookbooks in the series planned in the near future.

Her recipes and photos have been published in Redbook, Go Gluten Free! Magazine, Gluten-Free Living Magazine and The Non-GMO Cookbook: Recipes and Advice for a Non-GMO Lifestyle, as well as, several digital publications.  She is a recipe contributor (past and present) on One Green Planet, Primal Palate, Raw Food Recipes, Healthy Recipes Magazine and her recipes have been featured on over 200 websites across the internet including Redbook, SkinnyMs, Brit+Co, Babble, BuzzFeed, Boston, NoshOnIt, Greatist, Swide, Bembu, Daily Burn, Dr. Axe, Kris Carr, as well as, several iPhone recipe apps and digital cookbook collaborations.

She has developed recipes for brands such as Vibrant Health, Rawmio Gourmet Chocolate Spreads, Sambazon, Sunwarrior, Planet Rice, Natera and more.  Her area of expertise is making healthier, clean versions of traditional highly processed foods.  One of her original recipes, Hazelnut Caramel Clusters, won the first place prize in a raw food recipe contest.

In addition, she’s worked with Whole Foods Market, Sunwarrior, Maty's Healthy Products, Grund America, CogniTeaSpiral Spring, SunbioticsALOHA, and several more, to create brand awareness for their products and is a member of Healthy Food Blogs and The Recipe Redux.

Her future plans include expanding her Clean Eating eCookbook series and studying to become a Certified Holistic Health Coach.

On a personal note, she is an Essential Oils Wellness Advocate, enjoys traveling with her family and her favorite kitchen appliance is her Vitamix, which she's owned for over 11+ years.
